Lead Exposure Possibly Linked To 250,000 Heart Disease Deaths

Lead exposure might be killing a quarter of a million Americans every year.  A new study shows a possible link between exposure to lead and deaths from heart disease is more serious than previously thought.  Researchers tracked more than 14,000 people over nearly two decades.  The researchers say their findings show even low levels of lead in people's blood can substantially raise the risk of death, particularly from heart disease.

The study is published in Monday's edition of "The Lancet Public Health" journal.
