Hospital: Otto Warmbier Dies In Ohio

Otto Warmbier, the Ohio man held captive in North Korea until his release last week, has died. Warmbier's family says he died this afternoon at University of Cincinnati Hospital.  Doctors said the 22-year-old Warmbier was in a state of "unresponsive wakefulness" when he was returned to the U.S. after 17 months in North Korean detention.

U.S. doctors said he suffered "severe neurological injury" and suffered extensive loss of brain tissue and contraction of his muscles, arms and legs while in captivity.

He was sentenced March 16th, 2016 to 15 years in prison with hard labor for taking down a propaganda banner that was hanging at his hotel.  North Korea told his parents he had been in a coma since contracting botulism right after his sentencing.
