Cosby Lawyer: Next Time, We'll Get an Acquittal

Though it’s only been two days since a judge declared a mistrial in the sexual assault case of Bill Cosby, the comedian’s criminal defense attorney is already expressing confidence that his client will be acquitted if he's tried again. 

"[W]e have a wonderful criminal justice system in this country,” Brian McMonagle told ABC’s Good Morning America on Monday. “

Trust it, believe in it, and I’m confident that if this case is retried, he’ll be acquitted.” On Saturday, after six days in the courtroom followed by 52 hours of deliberation, the seven men and five women of the jury in Norristown, Pa., were unable to render a unanimous verdict on any of the three counts of aggravated indecent assault against Cosby, forcing Judge Steven T. O'Neill to declare a mistrial.
