Hurricane Jose Effects Felt On East Coast As It Moves North

The effects of Hurricane Jose will be felt by the eastern end of Long Island on Tuesday.

A Tropical Storm Watch is in place for parts of Long Island, with rough surf and strong rip tides expected. Jose will remain offshore, but it will still deliver heavy rain and strong winds.

A previous Tropical Storm Watch in place for the Jersey Shore has been canceled.  Scattered storms are expected for most areas, except for those East of New York City.

As Jose threatens the East Coast, Hurricane Maria is making its way through the Caribbean.  It made landfall on the island of Dominica as a Category 5 storm.  It’s been downgraded to a Category 4 hurricane, but could strengthen again before possibly hitting Puerto Rico sometime on Wednesday.
