Happy Easter! As we celebrate the Resurrection of our Lord and

Savior---and Master Teacher---Jesus the Christ, we

commemorate the 47th anniversary of the assassination of one

his greatest practitioners: the Rev. Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr.--

-the "Drum Major for Justice", the "Apostle of Nonviolence and

Peace"---a man who gave his life to and in ministry for the

teachings of Jesus...

Today, prosperity ministries are very popular...They concentrate

on restructuring the person for their own personal prosperity...

But, Jesus and Rev. Dr. Martin Luther King ministries' cast a

wider and deeper net...

They focused on restructuring the society so that all could

prosper...

And, how do you do that?

One way is to vote!

So, let's talk about our vote---especially on Tuesday, April 7th in

Chicago...

If you think it's right:

●For stops-and-frisks to occur at a rate four times higher than

that of New York City...don't vote.

●To close 50 schools in mostly Black and Brown

neighborhoods...don't vote.

●To close six mental health clinics...don't vote.

●To shorten yellow light times to amass $8 Million in revenue

from tickets...don't vote.

●For the Mayor to withhold $500 Million earmarked for the

Chicago Housing Authority---while 280,000 low-income

residents---mostly Black and Brown---languish on a waiting

list...don't vote.

This past week, noted political strategist Delmarie Cobb noted in

a brilliant op-ed that if we continue to sit out elections or vote for

the status-quo, then we will get what we deserve...
